Woodland Dessert Table

What an honour my little ‘Woodland Dessert Table’ has been featured on Sweet Designs. I put the table together for my children a little while ago for no other reason than I found these really cute chocolate woodland animals and marshmallow mushrooms in a lovely little sweet shop in Dulwich.  The table was actually really quick and easy to do. I had lots of table dressings left over from my sons Dinosaur birthday party (I’ll be posting pictures of the party table soon) and other than the marshmallow pops which I made myself everything else was picked up really inexpensively at local shops.

The little chocolate owl and hedgehogs were the original inspiration for the table.

Nestled on top of the owls little hidey hole I stacked a pile rocky road chocolate logs. The little hedgehogs are solid milk chocolate covered in dark chocolate sprinkles.

The table included chocolate cupcakes, a little patch of coconut topped marshmallow mushrooms and chocolate covered marshmallow pops.

I dipped the marshmallow pops in milk chocolate and them rolled in crystallised coconut before planting them in little pots of edible chocolate dirt.

The marshmallow mushrooms where also displayed in edible dirt.

I decorated the chocolate cupcakes with little orange flowers and to complete the woodland look filled the jar at the centre of the table with pretzels.

The kids absolutely loved it but I suspect that had more to do with the chocolate than the table.

No grown up’s actually got to see this table so I’d love to know what you think.
