Madeleine McCann – A little girl lost

by Zena-Marie on 18 May 2012

Today in a break from my usual posts I am supporting the campaign #Blogging4Madeleine it was started by Amummyview and  Tea and Biscotti to raise awareness of Madeline McCann a young British girl abducted while on holiday. For those of you outside of the UK who may not be aware of Madeline McCann here is a brief summary.

On 3rd May 2007 Madeline McCann, a then 3 three years old little girl, was on holiday with her parents and two younger siblings in the Praia da Luz region of Portugal. One evening somebody broke into the family’s apartment and stole Madeline from her bed. Her parents have been searching for her ever since. Saturday was Madeline’s 9th birthday. She has been missing for 5 long years.

This is such a sad story. So many lives destroyed by this single horrific act. So much pain and suffering inflicted on one family. The McCann’s have never stopped looking for their daughter; they have kept up a constant media interest in the case in the hope that someone may remember something no matter how small that could prove a breakthrough in the search for Madeline.

Police have released a new image as a guide to how they think Madeline may look now aged 9.

If you see a young girl who looks like this, PLEASE CONTACT:

Your local police force immediately, AND

Operation Grange

0207 321 9251 (in the UK)

+44 207 321 9251 (non-UK)

Operation.Grange@met.pnn.police.uk

OR Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org

Somebody out there knows what happened to Madeline someone has a vital clue that could lead to finding her. The more people who are aware of the case the more chance there is that someone with that information will come forward. Please share this post with as many people as you can. In the hope that it may end up in front someone who knows what happened.

To find out more information on the on-going campaign to find Madeline please visit www.findmadeline.com

If you are a blogger and wish to write your on post on the search for Madeline you can link up at Britmums or visit Amummyview and Tea and Biscotti who are the brilliant organisers of #Blogging for Madeline

Please support the #Blogging4Madeleine campaign in any way you can to help spread the word and bring Madeline home.

If you know where Madeleine is now or who was involved in her abduction, or if you were in Praia da Luz around the time of Madeleine’s abduction (3rd May 2007) and have not spoken to anyone in the police, please contact Operation Grange or Crimestoppers using the contact details above.
It’s never too late to do the right thing!

Thank you so much. My own daughter is nine years old and I have no idea how I would cope without her. Especially under such traumatic circumstances. I hope this blogging campaign can go some way to finding Madeleine and bring her home where she belongs.

Can you please make sure that Madeleine’s name is spelled correctly throughout this? There are 3 e’s in Madeleine.

Otherwise, well done for spreading the word that the search for Madeleine needs to continue until she is found.

Sorry about the spelling error. I put the post through spell check and it automatically corrected the name using only 2 e’s. Lets hope however that this did not distract from the message of the post.

Well done for all your hard work. You do realise that Madeleine McCann is a very important person. Homeland Security have special files on Madeleine; including the CIA. There is a very real possibility that young innocent Madeleine is living amongst us. The probability is, is somewhere in Portugal. The Portuguese Authorities they are so strange and hilarious; their attitude towards an innocent and vulnerable missing child – Very strange times a head. Dear Merciful GOD, please look after Madeleine, thank you.

How far would I go – if indeed Madeleine; hypothetically – speaking – was my beautiful daughter – 555.

Thank you so much for your comment. This is such a tragic story. It breaks my heart that any one should have to suffer this pain. My own daughter is the same age as Madeleine and I find it so hard to even contemplate what the McCanns are going through. I just pray Madeleine will be found soon and returned home to the family who love and miss her so much.

MADELEINE McCANN IS A REAL, LIVING, FINDABLE CHILD, take a look at the cases of Nartascha Kampusch, Jaycee Duggard, Shawnj Hornbeck, they too were found alive, so can Madeleine McCann be found alive, this is the true focus, I urge everyone to keep this in your minds, thank you.

Gerry, Madeleine’s father, used to write Madeline instead of Madeleine. He did it very often.

Thank you for your comment. I spell checked the post and it auto corrected her name with just 2 e’s. I hope the campaign to find her is going well and I pray that she will soon be back with her family. They have all suffered far to much.

Madeleine McCann is a real living breathing human being, so do not give up on her or any other missing child, and now keep a kind thought for missing Tia Sharp, who is only twelve years old; who is from the London area UK.

I know your blog is called ‘Mom’s guide’ but I hope you have room for a dad too! I have been deeply moved, and very involved, in this terribly sad case almost from the start. Personally I have never once stopped believing Madeleine is still alive and can be found, despite the worst actions of some narrow minded people who seem to be determined to harm her chances of being recovered by telling the most disgusting lies about her parents. One day she WILL be found, I have no doubt whatsoever.

Thank you for commenting and let me assure you that we always have room and appreciate the contributions of dads here. It is so important the the search for Madeleine keeps up its momentum. I feel so deeply for her parents and extended family. This is the worse possible situation a parent can face and I pray that she is returned to the soon. Nothing will ever be able to erase the pain this ordeal has caused to this family but with Madeleine’s return they can at least start the process of healing. My Prayers are with them.

I just want to say – well done Nigel for believing in Madeleine McCann. Someone with positive thoughts for a very vulnerable young girl. And anyone who disagrees with me is a complete and utter sub-humans. Go join the “ANTI CHRIST – MCCANN – NUTTERS”- They will be judged; come the day of reckoning! P.S:- I send all that anti McCann rubbish to the UK-Home Office, and pretty much anyone else-eg- the Papers. Such Fun!

Just had an idea-Someone must have ownership of a hot air balloon-may be with the official Find Madeleine Campaign Team; obviously including Kate and Gerry, and someone with time on their hands and cash-set off in a HOT AIR BALLOON – with a very large MADELEINE – “HAVE YOU SEEN ME”- POSTER – Travel to – UK – FRANCE – BELGIUM – GERMANY – SPAIN – “PORTUGAL” – Someone with bags of cash, someone like Richard Branston – VIRGIN!
